Product Description

This whole time you’ve been trying to cram your helmet on top of a knit touque, who knew it could be soooooooooo much easier! This is a very warm cap that is streamlined to fit under a helmet. It has a bill to keep driving rains off the eyes and an earflap to keep howling and biting winds off the ears. Works under snow sport helmets as well, and yet looks good without any helmet at all. Everyone will ask you where you got this — be one of the lucky few to get one this winter (I only make so many each year)!

Earflap caps are my most popular item because of how great they look while still being extra functional.

The crown is sewn up from a nice, fairly lightweight soft wool flannel plaid in shades of green, brown, black and purple. No big bulk and no itching (unless of course someone is allergic to lanolin). The earflap is a complimenting, cozy, wicking brown wool knit. All plaids are matched throughout the top of the cap, making this can very fun to look at.

All seams are serged with a double row of stitching and rough edges are encased with black 3/4″ cotton twill tape. There is a stretch of elastic in the back for snug fit. The 4.5cm shallow brim is filled with a very durable polyester fiber stiffener to give it shape and substance. It is still crushable if it needs to be stowed, and easily re-shapable. The earflap can be pulled down over the ears in chilly weather, or folded up and out of the way. The cap can be worn under a helmet when the earflap is down.

Care: Gently hand wash, shape, dry flat, warm iron. Or dry clean.
