Cap #132 has a flannel-weight wool crown in black and cream houndstooth check with burgundy and gold accents. All plaids are matched and topstitching is in cream-colored thread. The earflap is US-made polyester Power Dry grid fleece in black — the same stuff that the US Army uses for base layers (GEN III ECWCS*) Both fabrics wick superiorly, feel great next to the skin, and will let just enough air in to prevent over-heating when riding. Stay nice and warm without getting sweaty and gross.
All seams are serged with a double row of stitching and rough edges are encased with black 3/4″ cotton twill tape. There is a stretch of elastic in the back for snug fit. The 5cm deep brim is filled with a very durable polyester fiber stiffener to give it shape and substance. It is still crushable if it needs to be stowed, and easily re-shapable. The cozy, wicking polyester stretch fleece earflap can be pulled down over the ears in chilly weather, or folded up and out of the way. Great ear coverage. The cap can be worn under a helmet when the earflap is down. 40g.
Either dry clean or gently hand wash, shape, dry flat, cool iron.
