Product Description
This winter cap is made from upcycled (recycled from unwanted and/or damaged wool clothing) wool. The crown is 46% wool 30% rayon 20% polyester and 4% mystery fiber while the earflap is 100% merino wool in a beautiful natural colored cable knit. These are very nice textiles that have been given a second life — though looking at it you won’t be able to tell it isn’t straight from the mill. I love turning one pair of pants and a sweater into a handful of more utilitarian, and more heavily-used, caps!
All seams are serged with a double row of stitching and rough edges are encased with black 3/4″ cotton twill tape. There is a stretch of elastic in the back for snug fit. The 5cm deep brim is filled with a very durable polyester fiber stiffener to give it shape and substance. It is still crushable if it needs to be stowed, and easily re-shapable. The cozy, wicking polyester stretch fleece earflap can be pulled down over the ears in chilly weather, or folded up and out of the way. Great ear coverage. The cap can be worn under a helmet when the earflap is down. 45g.
Either dry clean or gently hand wash, shape, dry flat, cool iron.
