Sturdy 100% cotton twill material in beautiful cornflower blue, with the Belgian flag colors done up in assembled ribbon over the crown (black-yellow-red).
This is a three-panel cap, meaning the crown is sewn from three pieces of fabric: a strip and two half-moon pieces. Whether you prefer three or four panel is mostly a matter of preference, but some people with narrow heads and those whose scalps are very sensitive to pressure from seams do prefer the three panel. The four panel has many more seams and does suit a very round head better. There – now you know the science of cycling cap fit!
The bill (5cm / 2″ deep) is filled with polyester fiber. Don’t like soft bills? You probably haven’t tried mine. Don’t be shy. Fiber filled bills are great! They hold their shape well, are stiff and don’t sag, and flip up with just as satisfying a flip as plastic does. You never have to worry about warping or cracking, and the cap and bill can be folded and stuffed in a jersey pocket.
The cap has a cotton twill tape sweatband in black, with elastic in the back for a forgiving fit. Carefully made to last practically forever, i.e., this is something your great-grandchildren could cherish someday. A future cycling relic! 43g.
To care for it, machine wash cool or warm, tumble dry low or dry flat. Iron hot if needed.
